Glen Hall was chosen by judges at the 2020 North East Entrepreneurial Awards run by The Entrepreneurs Forum. The award recognises a seasoned entrepreneur who has shown incredible resilience and strength, particularly this year, to lead their own significant business to outstanding success through innovation, teamwork and leadership skills.

Glen is an experienced and successful business leader with a strong track record of building companies. Three years ago, he founded Talent Insight Group with Tim Gleave and David Steel and, despite the challenges of the pandemic, the business has continued to succeed and invest in growth.

At the heart of Glen’s approach is a focus on giving back and living our values to show that we care. Glen has demonstrated this for the employees throughout the pandemic by adapting with a number of initiatives to ensure everyone was safe and supported.

But it’s not only internally that Glen has made an impact and lived our values.

Having read about the challenges that Royal Grammar School bursary families were facing as a result of the pandemic, Glen has led initiatives to provide food parcels and vouchers, and devised a “Sporting Challenge” where students be sponsored to run, cycle or participate in other challenges to raise funds for the bursary campaign.

Glen said, “We all know that leadership is about empowerment, collaboration and finding people who are equal if not better than you. It’s about giving them just the right amount of direction to implement the plan.

“For a lot of my family, friends, and the people I work with 2020 has been a stressful, painful and sometimes tragic 12 months. In times like these, vision, mission, business plans, the 4 Ps, 7 Ps, innovation and disruption are of course still important.

“But genuine and heartfelt kindness to your people, suppliers and clients will create a bit of magic that cannot be bought, taught or learnt. Today more than ever, kindness embedded in your values and DNA will give you far more than competitive edge. It will give you strength of conviction and a belief that anything is possible.”

Glen dedicated the award to students supported by the RGS Bursary campaign.

Previous winners have included John Hays of Hays Travel, Tony Cleary of Lanchester Group, Lianne Walker MBE of Walker Filtration and John Waterworth of Parkdean Resorts.

Glen joins another member of the Talent Insight Group team who have won awards. In 2020 Tabitha Head won the Executive Research Association’s Researcher of the Year award.
