Our client was seeking an individual who could act as a positive disruptor and own the sector strategy, achieving global “buy in” and assisting with deployment across the regions.
The individual needed significant experience in different senior management functions in an international environment and be able to transform and lead a community based across all global regions. As this was a global role involving extensive travel, it could be located anywhere in the world.
We conducted a worldwide search, focusing on direct competitors with a strong offering in this particular product area. We identified very specific individuals, as the role was uncommon in the market and although its level of influence was huge, direct day-to-day team management was minimal.
As well as searching for individuals already in similar roles, our client was happy to target regional leaders with significant P&L responsibility who were based across Europe, Asia and the US.
62 individuals were identified in total. 29 were prioritised for approach and, as a result, 13 close-fit CVs were generated.
Our client screened nine candidates and shortlisted six for a more formal interview with the Chief Development Officer. Three individuals were then shortlisted, after which an exceptional candidate was hired. This individual is widely recognised as an exceptional talent with significant future potential and his reputation is acclaimed globally.
Our client has since commissioned three similar assignments.
